Allied World Bermuda, a part of Allied World Assurance Company Holdings (AWH) has introduced Executive ForceField, a new directors and officers liability policy.

Available as either an excess or primary basis, the newly launched policy is designed to provide broad Side A coverage for non-indemnified loss.

Bermuda and International Professional Lines Product Line Manager senior vice president Ed Moresco said: “Our new Executive ForceField policy incorporates many innovative enhancements to the usual Side A coverage, creating a leading force in the protection of directors and officers.”

The policy highlights includes reinstated limit of liability, broad definition of DIC Event, broad definition of Loss, advancement of defense costs and pre-claim inquiry costs on a current basis, favorable notice of claim provision and worldwide coverage territory.

Violent crimes, more often than not are committed by a small group of persistent male offenders with ASPD .

Approximately half of male prisoners in England and Wales will meet diagnostic criteria for ASPD. The majority of such men are not true psychopaths . They are characterized by emotional instability, impulsivity and high levels of mood and anxiety disorders. They typically use aggression in a reactive way in response to a perceived threat or sense of frustration.

However, about one third of such men will meet additional diagnostic criteria for psychopathy . They are characterised by a lack of empathy and remorse, and use aggression in a planned way to secure what they want .

Pacific Life promotes seventeen officers

California-based Pacific Life Insurance has announced the promotions of its seventeen officers, which will be effective from 01 April 2012.

The company has promoted its Real Estate Finance vice president Anthony Premer to senior vice president of its Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Division, to manage Pacific Life’s commercial real estate debt investment portfolio totalling more than $10bn.

Life Insurance Division Finance vice president Kevin Roddy has been promoted as its senior vice president to continue directing the financial, actuarial, reinsurance, and compliance areas within the division.

Thomas Bilello has been promoted to vice president of Compliance, Life Insurance Division, while Bernard Dougherty has been named Corporate Division Portfolio Management’s vice president.

Tennyson Oyler, who joined Pacific Life in 2002, has been made vice president of Brand Management and Public Affairs, Corporate Division.

Jason Rosiak is the new vice president and senior managing director of Pacific Asset Management, while Alice Terleckyhas has been named vice president of Client Services, Life Insurance Division.

Enterprise Risk Management assistant vice president Keith Werschke has been promoted to vice president of Aggregate Risk Management, Corporate Division.

Pam Askins has been named new assistant vice president of Information Technology and Strategic Planning, Life Insurance Division.

Ben Flores is named assistant vice president of Valuation and Product Reporting, Life Insurance Division, while, Doug Jackson has been promoted to assistant vice president of Product Management and Sales Support, Retirement Solutions Division.

Chin Kim is made assistant vice president of Advanced Marketing, Retirement Solutions Division and Joseph Lallande has been named assistant vice president of Counsel, Corporate Division.

Current actuarial director Liam Monaghan has been promoted to assistant vice president of Variable Annuity Product Actuary, Retirement Solutions Division.

Brian Robertson is named assistant vice president and managing director of Pacific Asset Management, while Kevin Steiner has been made assistant vice president of Mutual Funds Compliance, Corporate Division.

Sherri Wiseman, who joined joined Pacific Life in 2000, has been named assistant vice president of Meeting and Event Marketing, Life Insurance Division.

“The United States has suspended planned food aid to North Korea as Pyongyang vows to push ahead with a plan to launch a long-range missile in defiance of international warnings, U.S. military officials said on Wednesday,” Reuters reports . “Under a deal reached last month, North Korea agreed to a partial nuclear freeze and a moratorium on missile testing in return for U.S. food aid,” but “Pyongyang then announced it would use a long-range rocket to launch a satellite,” VOA’s “Breaking News” blog writes . Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense Peter Lavoy on Wednesday “told lawmakers North Korea had violated [the] moratorium agreement and could not be trusted to deliver the aid properly,” BBC News writes .

A study published Online First by Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals, reveals that newly insured and newly uninsured adults are more likely to go to the emergency department (ED) due to recent changes in health insurance status. The report is part of the journal’s Health Care Reform series.

The hospital ED is a significant indicator for access to care. According to the researchers, newly insured and newly uninsured individuals can find it hard to access outpatient care, and as a result may turn to hospital EDs in order to receive medical care.
